Lean Van Ranna, known for his work in dElohim, Menahem, Auryah, InnerSense and now in Sancti gave us the honor of granting us this interview you can read in full below:

Gustavo Hoft: We Christian Downloads have the great pleasure to entrevistar.Você you could present to our readers?

Lean Van Ranna: Well ... I'm a musician, singing teacher and singer of Heavy Metal, Power Metal, Prog Metal, Hard Rock with influences of Soul Music, Gospel Music & Spiritual (American Black) and classical music. I have experience as a vocalist to 20 years in rock bands for 18 years and Metal to 13 years. I studied opera and popular song, was choir of one of the largest coral my region to 12 years old. I recorded the EP of the power metal band dElohim entitled The Choice is Yours between 2003 and 2006. I recorded the album of the mining band Prog Metal Menahem in 2008 with the title of Angels and Shadows which yielded great national and international reviews. In 2009 I was in the top 10 singers in the poll on the choice of new vocals from Act II of Soulspell (survey of 30 names suggested by Heleno Vale).

Taught vocal technique classes at IMTS in Cachoeira Paulista and Guaratinguetá, school licensed by AT & T one of the largest music schools in the country and audio technology. Currently I have introduced materials and continuous recording, being in bands and projects: Auryah, InnerSense, Sancti, project creator Vitam Revocare - Ultimate Opera, which will feature the participation of several singers friends of Metal (which is also recording), Van heavens and solo career.

Gustavo Hoft: Who or which institution you studied opera and popular song?

Lean Van Ranna: Lyric studied in my beginning, with a teacher in a school in my town do not know even exists, Claudsom, the teacher was a beautiful voice of great dramatic soprano ... Too bad I do not know her whereabouts today her name was Cecilia. How was my beginning have few references, however, it was very important for me to have developed in my beginning. Already popular song started with me after Lyba Serra and was developing with him from beginner to intermediate. The simple and dynamic method of Lyba taught me a lot and helped me develop and popular corner. But the metal corner, I quite on the drives, Guttural and Screamo Melissa Cross which got a DVD (singing teacher as Angela Gossow (Arch Enemy) among others) in 2005. Finally my fascination for belting came to me find the material Seth Riggs and later Ken Tamplin, which also possess complete material on DVD, excellent teachers! In much research, many workclass, is singing and speech therapy, the subject is really fascinating, until now recycle me whenever possible!

Gustavo Hoft: This is always important. You have a powerful and well-diversified voice, using it as each song asks without sounding repetitive. What are your main vocal influences, in and out of rock and metal?

Lean Van Ranna: Thank you for the words! Well, I try to get a lot of things within the Black Music for vocal power parameters, because before I was singing enjoy Rock Gospel in the church, so that helped me to develop this "facet" of my voice. I have influences from Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Tonéx, and currently Leonardo Gonçalves, Thalles Roberto, Tom Carfi, are all admirable singers, especially the "ET" of Tonex, this guy goes beyond the "vocal health" (laughs). You Metal my influences range from the Hard Rock David Coverdale, Dale Thompson, Greg X Volz to Metal Ronnie James Dio, Bruce Dickinson, Jorn Lande, Russell Allen, etc ... If you quote all we will not leave this question! (laughs)

Gustavo Hoft: You said already sang Gospel in the church. You cradle of Christian? What church do you attend?

Lean Van Ranna: Yes, my grandmother (RIP) was Catholic and up to 9 years I have lived much of my years with her, and provided much-fearing boy to God and Christian. To 9 years had a powerful encounter with the Holy Spirit in an event that touches the world called The Torch, which is a tremendous evangelistic crusade led by Foursquare Church. At 11 I was baptized in the Holy Spirit and to 12 in the waters. It is a walk in the narrow story with all the ups and downs of any human being, but never far from the Lord and each day more and more fall in love with him! I'm currently changing ministry issues called it, I'm studying and preparing for the so-called pastoral and missionary inside a temple and urban missions with the most needy, so today I attend the Evangelical Church Shekinah, is a blessing! The pastor who leads that name makes an incredible social work. It has churches in very poor places, has opened up preaching points in pens (laughs). It's beautiful this work, in the end she always serves soup to general, so it's nice. It goes from the physical to the spiritual bread! Me too identified and felt the call, is what Santa wants now!

Gustavo Hoft: When was your first contact with Rock and Metal Christian?

Lean Van Ranna: In mid-1994 with Petra. I rented the video at the time called "The Backstage Pass", which had all the history of the band backstage and had clips, the first sound I heard was Sight Unseen, that powerful music! Since musically as the word ... and what about "In The Likeness Of You ?? Those testimonies of life and those songs, that desire to speak of God's love recording sounds, hit the road to bring peace, healing and hope to all entered as arrow in my heart, then not only first heard, as I had a supernatural awakening of my calling there! then came bands like Bride, Workshop G3 ... I took the Rock scene beginning and national Christian Metal, and dreamed to have my band and prayed for it every day since.

Gustavo Hoft: Dammit, I also love Petra and In The Likeness Of You is one of my favorite too!

Lean Van Ranna: Excellent, much anointing, even supernatural!

Gustavo Hoft: When was your first experience with the band?

Lean Van Ranna: Like all eager teenager (laughs) I tried in 1994 to mount a secular band at the time, without estutura, starting to learn to sing and band played Alice in Chains to Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath. I did a test and only left the band. In 2000 after several years of strong studies in relation to gender metal was invited to a band that played Iron Maiden and Helloween cover, we wrote 2 sons and did a few tests between themselves and covers, but felt it was not time yet and the purpose wanted, I left the band. It was when after nine years of prayer found dElohiim, my first band, recorded a demo EP and accepted at the time and were four years running the SP state all carrying the message and the good melodic metal in Christian events and even secular, was cool this time.

Gustavo Hoft: 2013 has been a laborious year for you: EP Auryah, InnerSense, soil and now entering the Sancti. What can we expect more this year?

Lean Van Ranna: Well before speaking of 2013, I would like to talk about 2008, when I recorded the Angels and Shadows with Menahem band. I thought never get out of it and it would be a band that rodaríamos the world, the sound was really very good ... But God's plans were not these, recorded the album and months later we were no longer together ... back and forth was a very difficult period, there were few recordings which highlight an EP Demo with Auryah and Single. It was nice but it was too little to five years of work ... It was always very difficult to find people who could devote themselves professionally to music while they are fearing the Lord. Today thanks to God found a galley note 10 as Vinicius Almeida, musician guitarist Auryah and my solo and producer of the DRK Studios and also the Vitam Revocare project, Vini gave me and gives me tremendous strength and is a guy firm tip too as well as a "brutal" producer (laughs), confer their work. Jonas Henry the bassist is excellent, without comments ... already InnerSense is a band with excellent musicians! William Vankar is an accomplished keyboardist, a true master arranger. Rafael Ferreira plays great and is with me in Auryah too. Has Ignacio Lopez is an Argentine bassist who is currently on tour in Europe with his Folk band there, Skiltron. The guy leaves things all come to rehearse with us when Argentina! It is even 10! The Sancti is a band of guys score of 10, and great musicians of Hard Rock, are great friends too, stick all Trades, you know? Jason has played in the Eternal and you already know the quality of face neh? Anyway, are all brothers true! Also give a holla to the rest of Sancti. There are 10! The work is fluid, as has my solo work, two single releases, an EP with Auryah, soon comes more with both the Sancti're mixing the CD we've recorded, will be released in the Eternal Fest alongside Eternal and other great bands 12 October, soon release dates and other bands like InnerSense the EP, and Vitam Revocare the project Metal Opera!

Gustavo Hoft: Do you still have contact with his former bandmates of Menahem, Living Rock, dElohim?

Lean Van Ranna: So ... Unfortunately not ... we do not have similar views, we have no similar outbreaks and so complicated, but would be very happy to see them grow in the mission because we serve the same God, always including exchange idea with the new voice of dElohim that is my brother in Christ, Airton Araújo, and the bassist today is my longtime friend, Thiago Vieira, former Auryah, I wish success and blessings to all!
